B Scene meets J Pop at this edition of Austin’s favorite art party. Join us as we celebrate Japanese pop culture through art, music, and more. Featuring Austin’s very own Japanese Comic Punk band Peelander-Z — who are guaranteed to rock our Rapoport Atrium with a lively and colorful performance. Every second Saturday, come hang on the Blanton’s new Moody Patio. Enjoy live DJ sets on the museum’s redesigned grounds and a variety of programs throughout the museum. Local food and drinks for sale; picnics encouraged. Galleries open till 8 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed artist Gajin Fujita and renowned anime scholar Susan Napier will discuss how traditional Japanese art influences contemporary art and pop culture in Japan and beyond.

Summer’s coming, and so are professional learning opportunities at the Blanton! We’re pleased to offer a variety of workshops that address our most-requested topics. The cost for each 3-hour workshop is $20 per participant. Participants will receive 3 hours CPE credits for their contributions to the workshop. Space is limited to 25 participants for each session, first come, first served. Don’t wait — sign up today!
